The word Cleavage got a whole different meaning this year, when an Amsterdam producer-duo decided to name themselves exactly that. Their goal is to create music that everybody could go wild to, and so far they’ve pretty much nailed it. Incorporating dominating bass lines and sensual vocal hooks creates their very catchy and soulful house that has been heating up many an Amsterdam club for the last couple of months.
It all started with their first release ‘My Body’. It was an immediate and sure-fire hit in the Netherlands this summer. Their following banger,‘Prove’, fell nothing short of its predecessor, with a rich and luscious female vocal that aims straight for the heart and a drop that gives you the shivers.
Cleavage is more than just a musical companionship. In January 2014Cleavage released a bold, hour-long video ‘Jinx‘ to accompany their successful mixtape Dressed. One of the members of the duo is an artist as well as a DJ and is the creative force behind this concept. The concept of Jinx is a video-clip, filmed in super slow motion, which features a woman’s bare cleavage functioning as a canvas throughout the video’s duration. The ultimate goal is a synergetic experience where music and art reinforce each other in one medium.
This year they have signed with Spinnin’ Records for multiple releases in the coming months. While they also released another single in May, ‘Grace’ with fellow Dutchman Lars Vegasin on Toolroom Records.
On November 10th Cleavage officially re-released their ‘Prove’ on Tiësto’s Label, Musical Freedom. ‘Prove’ has already reached over a million hits on YouTube and SoundCloud combined! Incorporating dominating bass lines and sensual vocal hooks creates their very catchy soulful house that has been heating up many clubs and festivals this past year.
